Summary
What to know
The corridor's traffic grew as shippers looked for routes around Russia, and the bottlenecks are now visible: port capacity, rail capacity across the Caspian, customs time at borders. Each bottleneck is an investment case for someone, usually in partnership with the state or a port operator.
Private entry points are warehousing near Tbilisi and the ports, cold chain for agricultural exports, truck fleets and forwarding, and services inside the free industrial zones at Poti and Kutaisi. The large infrastructure is state-led and moves on political timelines.
We cover the sector as intelligence until we have checked a partner. If you are looking at a specific asset, tell us and we will say what we know.

FAQ
Questions investors ask us
Is Anaklia happening?
The deep-water port has been announced, cancelled and re-tendered more than once. We report the state of the project on each review of this page rather than predicting it.
Where does a free zone help?
Poti Free Industrial Zone sits at the port and suits distribution and light assembly for re-export; the Kutaisi zones suit manufacturing with rail and road access.
When will you introduce partners?
When we have checked one. Circle members hear first.
